The Indonesian Petroleum Engineers Association (IATMI) will hold the IATMI Congress 2025, featuring three candidates for the position of President.
Muhammad Iksan Kiat, candidate number 2 in the IATMI election, has articulated a vision to transform IATMI into a center for the development of Indonesia’s petroleum industry that is innovative, sustainable, and globally competitive through member-based growth and multi-sector collaboration.
“We will also expand benefits for members and ensure organizational sustainability, positioning IATMI as Indonesia’s petroleum hub. We aim to strengthen our global image through innovation, collaboration, and competent work programs,” he said on Monday (April 14, 2025).
Iksan’s mission emphasizes that every aspiration and competency of members will be accommodated by actively identifying their needs and expectations through surveys and discussion forums.
“In addition, the organization will provide various training and certification programs to enhance members’ professional skills in facing the ever-evolving dynamics of the oil and gas industry,” he added.
As part of his mission as IATMI President, Iksan will focus on advocacy and acceleration, with IATMI playing an active role in promoting national energy and petroleum policies. Accelerating the adoption of new technologies in oil and gas exploration and production will also be a top priority.
He also pledged to strengthen IATMI’s reputation and existence by building an image as a credible and innovative professional organization. This effort will be supported by the development of broader communication platforms, ensuring that IATMI becomes increasingly recognized both nationally and internationally.
Another key mission is to promote collaboration and competition externally, where IATMI will expand partnerships with international organizations and global oil and gas industry players.
Iksan also committed that the organization will contribute to delivering sustainable energy solutions to support the energy transition and address future challenges in the energy industry.
He further emphasized legacy and inspiration, with IATMI aiming to create valuable legacies in the form of policies, innovations, and sustainable programs.
“With this vision, IATMI will continue to inspire young generations to contribute to the oil, gas, and energy industries while building a reputation as an influential organization with high integrity,” Iksan concluded.
Currently, Iksan serves as an Expert Staff to the Minister in charge of accelerating investment, increasing production, and risk management at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, a position he has held since December 2024.
Iksan also encouraged IATMI members who are active in the oil and gas industry to exercise their voting rights.
He hopes that not only the candidates are enthusiastic about developing Indonesia’s oil and gas industry, but that IATMI members will also share the same spirit for the industry’s future.
“Use your voting rights wisely. Let us work together to build a better oil and gas industry in Indonesia,” he said.
